We’re all bored at home at the moment and I’ve been trying to find things to do while I’m stuck at home. These are some ideas for things you could do while at home.
- Create a happiness/positive quote jar
(Via Jennifer Maker)
There are several ways to create this jar. Hell, it doesn’t even have to be a jar. You can use anything you want and put whatever uplifts you into it. You can print out quotes to pull when you need it or write something good that happened to you and drop it in the jar. Decorate it in whichever way aesthetically pleases you or keep it clear and drop in colorful paper to make it pop.
- Make your own potpourri
(Via Hearth and Vine)
For this one you need fruits, an oven, some spices, and fragrance oil if you want to add more fragrance. Cut the fruits into thin pieces, dry it out in the oven, and put it in a presentable bowl. Add cinnamon sticks for scent and a few drops of oil to make your home smell amazing.
- Rope vase
(Via Julie Blanner)
You’ll need a hot glue gun, a vase, and rope for this one. You can even use a can or anything else instead of a vase if you want something of a different shape. A mason jar would make a cute vase as well if you want something smaller, or even use multi colored yarn to give the vase a pop of color.
- DIY wine cork memo board
(Via HGTV)
This one may take longer but look how cute it is! You’ll bed a tray, rope, glue, paint, and obviously corks. It’ll add a pop to your room and be something unique that no one else has. It can also be a great gift for someone who enjoys diy projects.
- Tin punched votive candles
(Via A Beautiful Mess)
This may look daunting but it really isn’t. You’ll need some cans, paint, a hammer, and nails. To make things a little easier, you can sharpie on the letters and punch them out before painting the cans. This way your letters will be more symmetrical.
- Tin can organizer
(Via Mountain Modern Life)
For this one you once again need cans and paint. Since you have to make designs using something, you’ll also need painter’s tape or something that won’t remove paint from the can.
- Marble things with nail polish
(Via Design Mom)
This one has been around for a while now but you can marble pretty much anything with nail polish. As long as you put a clear coating on it, it should last you for a lifetime. Plus you can add as many colors as you want to create a custom look no one else will ever have.
- Galaxy in a jar
(Via Hello Maphie)
If you have acrylic paints and cotton around, it’s pretty easy to create these pretty jars. Layer the cotton and add different colors as you move up the jar. It’s not too complicated and adding glitter will just make things look even cuter.
- Button Tree on Canvas
(Via Crafts by Amanda)
This one can be simple if you have buttons laying around. You’ll need glue, buttons, paint, and a canvas. The original poster paints a background color too but you could always leave it blank and let the colorful buttons do their thing.
- DIY a ribbon bookmark
(Via Intimate Weddings)
This one may require you to go out and buy tools but it’s a great way to reuse old jewelry. Especially if you read a lot. If the velvet one doesn’t work, you can take another bookmark and punch a hole, put in a jump ring, and dangle a charm from it.
